Quick Facts: Gospel of Matthew
![]() |
A Moped is more than a bicycle and far from being a Harley. The Gospel of Matthew is longer and more descriptive than Mark’s, but it is also far from the grandeur of Luke. Matthew used 1475 words, of which 137 are hapax legomena or words only used by him in the New Testament. He also uses quotes from the Old Testament. Ten of these quotes are fulfillment prophesies; when he quotes an Old Testament prophesy and then explains how it is fulfilled in Jesus. Matthew’s Gospel may have been used as a teaching tool for his community on how to live the Christian life. |
